Forest Cottage is right in the middle of the indigenous forest and has 8 bedrooms with 2 single beds in each, a comfy lounge, kitchenette and 2 bathrooms. Fully equipped, you only need to bring your own towels. All rooms lead onto a wooden deck – just the place to sit and soak up the tranquil beauty and sounds of the forest.
A large wooden barn style communal area fully equipped kitchen and tables & benches for workshops, lectures & meals, with wrap around deck and awesome views. Boma for those evenings around a roaring fire, swimming pool with views of the Outeniqua mountain range and a glimpse of the ocean, sports field, hikes, obstacle course…. Obstacle course/ orienteering/ raft building/ survivor skills/ hiking trails/ customised team building/ endurance trails/ field games/ life skills/ reforestation activities / adventure racing / littercraft / arts & crafts / talks & slides shows / bird watching & much more. We offer various facilitated programmes to groups that focus on developing effective team work and leadership skills. Our programmes are suitable for everyone from 10 years and up. These activities have been developed with an emphasis on outdoor education and building effective teamwork and ‘thinking out of the box”. Ingwe received endorsement from the Western Cape Education Department in July 2009. This protected area boasts a stunning combination of fynbos, forest, pastures and wetlands for the introduced Impala and Zebra to safely roam in and for you to explore! About 100 hectares of the property that is not fenced has been identified as the Crags corridor section of the Eden to Addo initiative and has a healthy activity of caracal, bushpig, genet, bushbuck, duiker & monkeys just to name a few… Motion cameras have been placed at strategic points and we are hoping to photograph that elusive leopard! Active participation of the owners has been to allow the indigenous flora to grow back and includes alien vegetation removal and reforestation of indigenous plants in various areas.
