Teambuilding at Ingwe Forest Adventures

Ingwe Forest Adventures is an established outdoor adventure educational facility set in pristine indigenous forest  in The Crags, east of Plettenberg Bay. An ideal location for team building, youth camps, church groups, special events, leadership training, educational groups, conferences, functions and social gatherings and groups looking for comfortable holiday accommodation as a base to explore our beautiful Garden Route. Exclusive use of the venue is given to groups.

Accommodation is available for groups of up to 80 people in charming wooden cabins overlooking the forest. Four of these cabins are dormitory style, sleeping 16 – suitable for those who want to rough it comfortably! Sheets are provided on the mattresses and these cabins make use of a central ablution block.
Forest Cottage is right in the middle of the indigenous forest and has 8 bedrooms with 2 single beds in each, a comfy lounge, kitchenette and 2 bathrooms. Fully equipped, you only need to bring your own towels. All rooms lead onto a wooden deck – just the place to sit and soak up the tranquil beauty and sounds of the forest.

A large wooden barn style communal area fully equipped kitchen and tables and benches for workshops, lectures and meals, with wrap around deck and awesome views. Boma for those evenings around a roaring fire, swimming pool with views of the Outeniqua mountain range and a glimpse of the ocean, sports field, hikes, obstacle course…. Take a meander along a forested trail to a natural clearing in the indigenous forest, an ideal wedding ceremony area or as an outdoor classroom or meeting area – beautiful and peaceful…

Various facilitated programmes to groups that focus on developing effective team work and leadership skills are offered. The programs are suitable for everyone from 10 years and up. These activities have been developed with an emphasis on outdoor education and building effective teamwork and ‘thinking out of the box”.
Ingwe received endorsement from the Western Cape Education Department in July 2009.

Each group is briefed on their program and is followed up with a debriefing at the end of the day and presentation of certificates. Programs can be tailor made to suit your specific needs and facilitation is on a 1:10 ratio. Our facilitators are passionate about Nature and Conservation and bring a wealth of experience of this into our programmes.
If you choose to, you may even run your own camp or workshop and activities yourselves at our spectacular venue. We are linked to many other conservation awareness projects and can include this in your programme. Tailor made inclusive packages to suit your needs is our expertise.

A bit about the property
This protected area boasts a stunning combination of fynbos, forest, pastures and wetlands for the introduced Impala and Zebra to safely roam in and for you to explore! About 100 hectares of the property that is not fenced has been identified as the Crags corridor section of the Eden to Addo initiative and has a healthy activity of caracal, bushpig, genet, bushbuck, duiker & monkeys just to name a few… Motion cameras have been placed at strategic points and we are hoping to photograph that elusive leopard! Active participation of the owners has been to allow the indigenous flora to grow back and includes alien vegetation removal and reforestation of indigenous plants in various areas. Ingwe has been developed to provide interaction between animals, plants and people through various life experiences that are offered here. GPS co-ords: 33º 58’ .74”S 23 º 26’ 8.7”E.

Ingwe is also the head office for the NPO, The Green Ticket.org – visit www.thegreenticket.org.  The Green ticket is a climate change initiative and one of their projects includes planting indigenous trees at local schools to offset your carbon emissions.
