Walk with Cheetahs

Support the Wildlife Rehabilitation and Release Programme by visiting Plettenberg Bay’s Tenikwa Wildlife Centre and get to know Africa’s wild cats and other endangered species. Living in a semi-natural environment these animals have a chance to speak for those who have no say.

A guided tour will teach you about their struggle for survival in the wild and bring you so close to the furry felines that you will hear them purr!

Meet the charismatic Cheetah and enjoy a cat and mouse game with South Africa’s seldom seen indigenous cats, such as the African Wild Cat, Servals, Caracal and the rare Black-Footed Cat. Experience the inquisitiveness of the busy Meerkats, watch the Blue Cranes dance and take pleasure in getting to know the marvelous Marabou Storks.

And for the more adventurous we offer a walk with the Cheetahs through the Tsitsikamma Indigenous Forest and Cape Floral Fynbos, an exhilarating experience that will stay with you forever.

The Crazee Cat Day
Book in early with a cup of coffee, and then join the cheetahs on their early morning Sunrise Cheetah Walk. Thereafter enjoy coffee and freshly baked muffins at Chesters Coffee Shop, before going out on the 1hr Wild Cat Experience.

After this, you get to spend time with the animal keepers carrying out their daily activities of grooming, animal enrichment, exercise and spending quality time with the cats. Lunch and a complimentary glass of wine is included.

After lunch, assist in the preparation of the afternoon feeding before going out on the Sunset Cheetah Walk to walk with the cheetahs through our beautiful natural vegetation. End a perfect day with a complimentary glass of wine and snacks as the sun goes down.

Wild Cat Experience Adult: R185 Children 6-13 years: R95 5 years or under: no charge	A 1-hour guided walking tour to visit the cats and other creatures at Tenikwa. Wheelchair friendly and suitable for all ages. Prams cannot be taken into the enclosures. All weather program. No bags, backpacks to be taken into the enclosures. No animal contact policy on this program.
Cheetah Sunrise Walk Per Person: R550 Children height requirements of 1.5 m	Arrival at 07h15 with a cup of coffee. Walk with the Cheetahs between and 07h30 – 09h00. Thereafter coffee and cake is served. Long Trousers and sturdy closed walking shoes required. Terrain is not suitable for wheelchairs. Height requirement of 1.5m. Program ends 09h30. Booking essential. Specified refreshments included. Weather permitting. Animal contact permitted on Cheetah Walk.
Sunrise Walk and Wild Cat Combo Per Person: R660 Children height requirements of 1.5 m	Booking in at 07h15 with a cup of coffee. Walk with the Cheetahs starts at 07h30 – 09h00. Thereafter complimentary refreshments & light snack is served, followed by The Wild Cat Experience. Long Trousers and sturdy closed walking shoes required. Terrain is not suitable for wheelchairs. Height requirement of 1.5m. Program ends 10h30. Booking essential. Weather permitting. Animal contact permitted on Cheetah Walk.

Photographic Tour Per Person: R500	Booking in at 07h15. This program is designed specifically for the amateur or semi-professional photographer to obtain some stunning photos of wild cats or for the discerning guest who would like an exclusive tour. Long Trousers are required. Program ends 09h30. Booking essential. Height Requirement of 1.5m. No Animal contact policy on this program.
The Crazee Cat Day Per Person: R1800 Children height requirements of 1.5 m	Booking in at 07h15. This is a full day program including breakfast and 2 course lunch. Includes a Sunrise Cheetah Walk, Photographic tour, Cheetah Grooming Session, Animal Enrichment Session, working alongside the Animal Keepers and a Sunset Cheetah Walk. Long Trousers are required and sturdy closed walking shoes required. Program ends 18h30. Booking essential. Breakfast, Lunch and specified refreshments included in the price of the program. Height requirement of 1.5m. This is a hands on, animal contact program.
