The Knysna Elephant Park
Situated in the Knysna forest, the Knysna Elephant Park - the first of its kind in South Africa - provides a home for orphaned elephants and offers visitors a taste of nature in an area where vast herds once roamed. Join the elephants in their free-range controlled environment where you will be able to experience their magnificent presence up-close-and-personal.
Knysna Elephant Park offers an elephant experience for everyone with daily tours conducted every half-hour from 08h30 to 16h30.
Guests are transported to the elephants where they have the opportunity to interact and photograph these awesome creatures.
Guided elephant rides and walks through fynbos and indigenous forests, with beautiful views of the Tsitsikamma and Outeniqua mountains are available.
And for those wanting a more exclusive interaction, sunrise and sunset riding or walking safaris are available as private tours.
Luxury accommodation is also available at the unique Elephant Lodge – an once-in-a-lifetime chance to sleep close to these gentle giants and observe their night time routine.
